Timité Bassori
Biography
Timité Bassori is an Ivorian filmmaker, actor, and writer, born on December 30, 1933, in Aboisso, Côte d'Ivoire. His feature-length film, The Woman with the Knife (1969), is a classic of African cinema and has been restored as part of the African Film Heritage Project. Bassori co-founded the Compagnie d'Art Dramatique des Griots in 1957 and worked in theatre before pursuing a career in film.
