Kwame Onwuachi is a James Beard Foundation Rising Star Chef of the Year, having been named so in 2019. He rose to prominence after competing on season 13 of the popular culinary competition show Top Chef in 2015. Prior to his culinary career, Onwuachi spent time living in Nigeria and struggled in school before eventually finding his footing in the culinary world.
