Biography

Paul Vecchiali was a French filmmaker and author born in Ajaccio, Corsica, France, who drew inspiration from the French cinema of the 1930s with an experimental and autobiographical tone. His notable works include "Rosa la rose" and "Encore", which addressed themes of gay life and AIDS. Vecchiali became the first French director to address AIDS in a film, releasing "Encore" in 1987. He passed away at 92 in Paris on January 18, 2023.
