Biography

Akira the Hustler is a Japanese artist, writer, actor, and activist, born in 1969 in Tokyo. He gained recognition for his involvement in the HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns in Japan as a university student. As an actor, Akira has appeared in "Queer Japan" (2019), and has written a memoir, A Whore Diary, which chronicles his experiences as a sex worker. He is also a co-founder of the performance art group The Biters.
