Ivy Ling Po

Biography

Huang Yu-chun, known professionally as Ivy Ling Po, is a retired Hong Kong actress and Chinese opera singer born on November 16, 1939, in Shantou, Guangdong. She rose to fame in the 1960s for her roles in Huangmei opera films, particularly The Love Eterne (1963). Ling Po played an important role in preserving the Huangmei opera art form and also appeared in notable films like "The 14 Amazons" (1972) and "The Crimson Charm" (1971), cementing her status as an Asian superstar.
