Biography

Hiroko Sakuramachi, born on June 16, 1937, in Gifu Prefecture's Izu Peninsula, began her acting career at a young age after winning a contest for "Miss Dan-no-Ura Tsurimens" while still in high school. She joined East Asia New Wave, the third generation of East Asia New Face actresses, and made her film debut in 1957 with notable roles in films such as "Fuji no Koibito" and "Tora San."
