Claus Theo Gärtner is a German television actor and amateur racing driver, born on April 19, 1943, in Berlin during World War II. He gained national recognition with the long-running crime series Ein Fall für zwei, playing private detective Josef Matula from 1981 to 2013, appearing in over 300 episodes. Gärtner also began his career on stage in the 1960s and has been active in German theatre.
