Kao Pao-shu

Biography

Kao Pao-shu was a Chinese actress, producer, writer, and film director born in Jiangsu, China in 1932. She moved to Hong Kong in 1951, joining Shaw Brothers Studio in 1958 where she starred in over 80 films and directed her debut film, Lady with a Sword (1970). A prolific figure in the industry, Kao also started her own production company before retiring in the 1980s. She passed away in July 2000 at the age of 68.
