Biography

Naoko Asari is a Japanese film sound engineer and animation sound director, born on January 24, in Tokyo. She initially joined Omnibus Promotion in 1981 as a sound assistant, working primarily on Studio Ghibli projects. After a 17-year hiatus, she returned to directing Studio Ghibli works with the 2013 film The Tale of the Princess Kaguya, marking her first collaboration with the studio since Whisper of the Heart in 1995.
