Biography

Billy T. James was a New Zealand entertainer and comedian who became a key figure in the development of NZ comedy, known for his household name status during his lifetime. He began as a signwriter, then joined showband the Māori Volcanics, performing around the world under various guises. As an actor, he appeared in notable films like Came a Hot Friday (1985) and Under the Mountain (1981).
