Biography

Ulla Pirttijärvi-Länsman is a Sami joik singer from the village of Angeli, Finland, raised with traditional joik music and chanting. She began her career with the group Angelin Tytöt, later pursuing a solo career with Western arrangements of contemporary instruments. In 2014, she formed the group Solju with her daughter Hildá Länsman, and in 2022, she appeared in the film "Memory of Water" as Sámi Woman. She has also written a music book and composed children's songs to teach the Sami language and culture.
