Biography

Nelson Yu Lik-wai is a Hong Kong cinematographer and film director born on August 12, 1966. He graduated from INSAS in Belgium with a degree in cinematography in 1994 and has become known for his collaborations with Chinese director Jia Zhangke, whom he also co-founded independent production company Xstream Pictures with. Yu has served as director of photography for nearly all of Jia's films and was a member of the jury at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.
