Biography

Mutulu Shakur was a New Afrikan activist and member of the Black Liberation Army. Convicted of a 1981 Brinks armored truck robbery that resulted in the murder of a guard and two police officers, he was sentenced to 60 years in prison. Paroled in 2022 on compassionate grounds due to ill health, Shakur died in 2023, eight months later, leaving behind a legacy as a prominent figure in the Civil Rights Movement.
