He began piano studies at five and won first prize at the Conservatoire de Paris at 17, mastering the instrument with Theodor Paraskivesco and receiving guidance from renowned pianists. Tharaud's diverse discography reflects his extensive concert stage presence, including notable performances alongside artists like Jean-Louis Trintignant in the 2012 film Amour.
