Jürgen Flimm
Biography
Jürgen Flimm was a renowned German theatre and opera director, managing the Thalia Theater in Hamburg from 1985 to 2000, transforming it into one of Germany's most successful theatres. He directed acclaimed productions internationally, including Beethoven's Fidelio at the Metropolitan Opera and the 2002 world premiere of Friedrich Cerha's Der Riese vom Steinfeld at the Vienna State Opera. Flimm also held prominent positions as general manager of the Salzburg Festival and RuhrTriennale festivals.
