Shelby Steele

Biography

Shelby Steele is a renowned American author and scholar, born on January 1, 1946, in Phoenix, Illinois, to a black father and white mother. He has written extensively on race relations, multiculturalism, and affirmative action, and has been featured in the documentary film "2016: Obama's America" (2012). A fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution, Steele has also spent 20 years as an English professor at San Jose State University.
