Biography

Katarzyna Łaniewska-Błaszczak was a Polish theatre and film actress who survived the Warsaw Uprising and returned to Warsaw in 1945. She made her debut in 1955 after graduating from the Theatre Academy in Warsaw, going on to become president of the Warsaw branch of the Union of Polish Stage Artists. Łaniewska was also an opposition activist in the Polish People's Republic and a political activist since 1989, serving on the ZASP Board until 2006.
