Agnès Callamard

Biography

Agnès Callamard is a French human rights activist and former director of the Columbia University Global Freedom of Expression project. She served as the Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary, or arbitrary executions and is currently the Secretary General of Amnesty International. Callamard's work has focused on human rights, women's rights, and refugee movements, with a particular emphasis on Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
