Biography

Aurora Cornu was a Romanian-born French writer, actress, film director, and translator, best known for her starring role as Aurora in Éric Rohmer's Claire's Knee. Born in Provița de Jos, Romania, she was adopted and later defected to France from Romania, settling in Paris where she established a literary and artistic career. Her life was marked by her independent spirit and unconventional choices, including three escape attempts from home as a teenager.
