Biography

Dietmar Kracht was a German actor born in Mannheim in 1941, growing up in difficult circumstances in Ludwigshafen am Rhein. He initially took on menial jobs before transitioning to acting, appearing in Rosa von Praunheim's 1969 film "Schwestern der Revolution". Kracht starred in two films with von Praunheim: the 1971 cult classic "Die Bettwurst" and its 1973 sequel "Berliner Bettwurst". He tragically died by drowning in a Berlin lake just one day before commencing work on his next film.
