Richard Oswald
Biography
Richard Oswald was a pioneering Austrian filmmaker who made his mark in the silent era, directing over 100 feature films between 1914 and 1951. Notable among his works are the horror classics "Nachtgestalten" (1920) and "Unheimliche Geschichten" (1932), as well as operetta films that showcased his versatility. Forced to flee Nazi Germany, Oswald eventually settled in the United States, where he continued to work in film until his death in 1963.
