Johan Rockström

Biography

Johan Rockström is a Swedish scientist and professor, renowned for his work on global sustainability issues. He pioneered the planetary boundaries framework, which identifies nine fundamental boundaries to maintaining a "safe operating space for humanity." As joint director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and chief scientist at Conservation International, Rockström continues to shape our understanding of the Earth's systems and human impact.
