Igor Ilyinsky

Biography

Igor Vladimirovich Ilyinsky was a renowned Soviet and Russian stage and film actor, director, and comedian. He began his career at the Theatre Studio of Theodore Komisarjevsky and later became a central figure at the Vsevolod Meyerhold State Theatre, starring in several iconic productions including Mistery-Buffo and The Forest. Ilyinsky was awarded Hero of Socialist Labour in 1974 and named People's Artist of the USSR in 1949.
