Biography
Paul Askonas was a renowned Austrian actor who began his career in 1896 at St. Pölten's Stadttheater, later gaining recognition for his roles in the silent films "The Hands of Orlac" (1924) and "Sodom and Gomorrah" (1922). He also held notable engagements at the Hoftheater Meiningen and the Deutsche Theater in Vienna, where he worked until 1920. Askonas was known for his versatility, playing both dignified figures and unheimliche characters.
