Biography

Peter Godfrey was a pioneering English actor and film director who co-founded the experimental Gate Theatre Salon in 1925 with his wife Molly Veness. The duo staged London's first expressionistic production in 1926, paving the way for their subsequent work on avant-garde plays. After establishing a career in Hollywood, Godfrey became a successful actor and director in films such as "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" (1941).
