Keiko

Biography

Keiko, the orca whale, starred in the 1993 film Free Willy, playing the titular role of a captive whale. Notably, Keiko became the first captive orca to be successfully rehabilitated and released back into the wild, thriving for over 5 years in his native waters. During his rehabilitation, Keiko gained over 1 ton and mixed with wild orcas, earning his freedom.
