Karl Dane was a Danish-American comedian and actor known for his work in American films during the silent era. He gained stardom after portraying "Slim" in King Vidor's 1925 film The Big Parade. After partnering with George K. Arthur, he formed the comedy duo Dane & Arthur, appearing in numerous successful silent features before sound films took over. His career declined due to his thick accent, leading to a tumultuous end.
