Michael J. Nelson is an American comedian and writer, born on October 11, 1964, in St. Charles, Illinois. He was the head writer of Mystery Science Theater 3000 for most of its original eleven-year run and spent half that time as the on-air host. Since MST3K, he has written best-selling books and is currently part of the online movie riffing site RiffTrax.
