Samm-Art Williams

Biography

Samm-Art Williams is a playwright and screenwriter whose work primarily explores the African-American experience. He was nominated for Tony and Drama Desk Awards for his play "Home" in 1979, which later transitioned to Broadway production. In the mid-1980s, he received two Emmy nominations for his television series work. His notable film appearances include Gus Parsons in "A Rage in Harlem" (1991) and Meurice in "Blood Simple" (1984).
