Biography

Leo Sylvester Hannan was a New Zealand serial killer convicted of murdering watchman Frederick Stade in 1950, for which he was sentenced to life imprisonment. In a confession made to his lawyer just months before his death, Hannan revealed he had committed three additional murders dating back to 1942. Born in 1900 to Irish immigrant parents, Hannan's life was marked by abandonment and a history of crimes, including prison escapes.
