Vlasta Chramostová

Biography

Vlasta Chramostová was a Czech film actress known for her notable roles in films such as "The Trap" (1950), which debuted at the 1951 Cannes Film Festival, and "When the Cat Comes" (1963). A prominent figure in the Velvet Revolution, she signed Charter 77 and rallied against the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. Her courage and conviction inspired her to ask the crowd during a 1989 rally: "If not now, when? If not us, then who?"
