Born on May 10, 1960, in Dublin, Ireland, Bono is a founding member and lead vocalist of the rock band U2, known for his impassioned vocal style and grandiose songwriting. His lyrics frequently explore social and political themes, with religious imagery inspired by his Christian faith. As a musician, activist, and philanthropist, Bono has received numerous awards, including 22 Grammy Awards, and was named Time Person of the Year in 2005.
