Yūzō Kayama is a Japanese musician and film star born on April 11, 1937. He rose to stardom in the 1960s with roles in Akira Kurosawa's Red Beard and the Wakadaishō (Young Guy) film series. As a guitarist, he performed psychedelic surf music and composed hits like "Black Sand Beach" and "Kimi to Itsumademo", which sold over two million copies. He also appeared in notable films like The Sword of Doom and Battle of Okinawa.
