David Lloyd Wolper was a renowned American television and film producer born on January 11, 1928, in New York City. He produced notable films such as Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) and L.A. Confidential (1997), as well as influential shows like Roots, The Thorn Birds, and North and South. Wolper was also awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for his work on the 1984 Summer Olympics. He passed away in 2010.
