Gordon Douglas Jones is an American politician and attorney, born on May 4, 1954, in Fairfield, Alabama. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as a United States senator from Alabama from 2018 to 2021, most notably prosecuting the 1963 Birmingham church bombing case and indicting domestic terrorist Eric Rudolph. Jones previously served as U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama from 1997 to 2001.
