A member of the Peking Opera Schools and one of the Seven Little Fortunes, he worked on numerous films in Hong Kong and later gained fame in American cinema with high-profile action films like Lethal Weapon 4 and X-Men. He also directed and choreographed several notable films, including The Transporter trilogy.
