Biography

Gladys Love Smith, born on April 25, 1912, grew up on a cotton farm in Mississippi. Her life took a dramatic turn when she met Vernon Presley at church in the early 1930s, and they married in 1933, despite their ages. Tragedy struck when Gladys gave birth to twins in 1935, but only her son Elvis Aaron Presley survived. She is known for her appearances in archival footage.
