Walter Lassally was a German-born British cinematographer born on December 18, 1926. He won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography in 1965 for the film Zorba the Greek and collaborated with notable directors including Tony Richardson and James Ivory. Lassally also made his acting debut in Richard Linklater's Before Midnight (2013).
