Richard O. Hall was a mortgage broker and businessman, most notably surviving a 63-hour hostage situation by Tony Kiritsis in 1977. The dramatic event was later adapted into a film, with Hall's life serving as the inspiration. Hall struggled with alcoholism following the ordeal, which is documented in the 2025 film Dead Man's Wire. His story has also appeared in the 2018 film Dead Man's Line.
