Anthony Kiritsis

Biography

Anthony George 'Tony' Kiritsis was an American resident of Indianapolis, who held his mortgage broker hostage in 1977, demanding "justice" after falling behind on mortgage payments. The event, widely followed by local and national media, ended with Kiritsis' release and acquittal by reason of insanity. He spent over a decade in a mental institution before being released in 1988, and later returned to Indianapolis, where he died of natural causes in 2005.
