Biography

Gordon Tootoosis was a First Nations actor of Cree and Stoney descent, renowned for his commitment to preserving his culture and telling his people's stories. A respected activist and leader, he served as a band chief and social worker before pursuing an acting career, which spanned film and television productions in Canada and the US. He won a Gemini Award for his work on Wapos Bay: The Series and was awarded membership in the Order of Canada.
