Edward H. White II
Biography
Edward Higgins White II was a trailblazing American aeronautical engineer, Air Force officer, and astronaut, pioneering the first American spacewalk during the Gemini 4 mission in 1965. He later served as a crew member on the ill-fated Apollo 1 mission in 1967. White's pioneering achievements in space exploration paved the way for future generations of astronauts.
