Roger B. Chaffee

Biography

Roger Bruce Chaffee was a naval officer, aviator, and aeronautical engineer who became a NASA astronaut in the Apollo program. Tragically, his life was cut short when he lost his life in a fire during a ground test of Apollo 1 in 1967. This historic incident remains a pivotal moment in the Apollo program's history. His story was later documented in the 2025 film "Apollo 1".
