Stephen William Hawking was a renowned English theoretical physicist and cosmologist who made groundbreaking contributions to our understanding of black holes and the origins of the universe. Diagnosed with a motor neurone disease at age 21, he defied the odds through his tireless work and innovative communication methods. As Director of Research at Cambridge's Centre for Theoretical Cosmology, Hawking pioneered a union of general relativity and quantum mechanics.
