Erwin Leder is an Austrian actor born on July 30, 1951, in St. Pölten, Austria. He is known for his iconic role as Chief Mechanic Johann in the 1981 film Das Boot, directed by Wolfgang Petersen. Leder also starred in the cult classic Angst (1983), playing a leading serial killer, and reprised his role as Singe in the 2003 gothic horror film Underworld.
