Biography

René Hardy was a member of the French Resistance during World War II, serving in the resistance group Combat from birth until his arrest in June 1943. Hardy's involvement with Lydie Bastien, a German collaborator, led to his downfall, and he was accused of being instrumental in the arrest of prominent resistance leaders. Despite being acquitted twice, his reputation was forever tarnished by these allegations. He died on April 12, 1987.
