Biography

DJ Próvaí is a founding member of the Irish-language hip hop trio Kneecap, alongside Mo Chara and Móglaí Bap. Born James John "JJ" Ó Dochartaigh in Derry, he worked as an Irish language teacher before joining Kneecap in 2017. As a key vocalist and DJ, he contributes to the group's Irish-language rap performances, which fuse satire, political commentary, and working-class Belfast youth culture.
