Karen Olivo

Biography

Karen Olivo, born August 7, 1976, is an American stage and television actor, theater educator, and singer known for her breakout performance as Vanessa in the Broadway revival of In the Heights in 2008. She won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her role as Anita in West Side Story in 2009, becoming the first and only actor to win the award for that show. Olivo also originated the leading role of Satine in the Broadway adaptation of Moulin Rouge! in 2019.
