Phillip Avalon

Biography

Phillip Avalon is an Australian writer, producer, director, and actor born on February 24, 1955. A former surfing champion and male model, he was responsible for launching Mel Gibson's career in Summer City (1977). His films often explore themes of violence in lower-middle-class society repressed by Christian and materialist values. Avalon made his directing debut in 2003 with Liquid Bridge.
