A.C. Abadie
Biography
Alfred Camille Abadie was an American photographer and filmmaker who pioneered actuality films for Thomas Edison's studio. He began as a camera assistant at Edison Studios in New York City around 1898 before being sent to Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa to create these films. His work, including "Emigrants Landing at Ellis Island," was selected for preservation by the National Film Registry in 2019.
